Sculpting with Recycled Materials – 2024 & beyond

In 2024, my practice expanded beyond painting as I began sculpting with reclaimed and recycled materials, deepening my commitment to sustainability and storytelling. Inspired by the resilience of nature and the urgent need to address climate change, I started incorporating discarded plastics, driftwood, plant-based resins, and recycled shells into my work. These materials, once considered waste, became the foundation for sculptures that explore themes of regeneration, coastal ecosystems, and environmental responsibility.

Each piece carries the marks of its origins—fragments of the past reshaped into something new, a reflection of how nature itself reclaims and rebuilds. Through this shift, my art continues to evolve, merging beauty with activism, inviting conversations about what we discard, what we value, and how we can create a more sustainable future.

Some of the sculptures have sold, many were exhibited in 2024 including at Guild Hall in East Hampton, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Long Island’s Tales of Contact, Cultures, & Community curated by Patchogue Arts Council & Ma’s House.
